Chase Freedom Plus

After almost 3 years, I have 166,000 miles on my Chase Freedom Plus card. I just called to convert some miles to airmiles on BA and was told that they had changed the program and that this was no longer possible. The miles are now worth $.01 each if I use Chase's travel site to book travel - I big decline from the value of 3 round trips to Europe that I thought I had. UGH.
Has this happened to anybody else, and, if so, have you had any luck trying to get your miles back?
